Our Town by Thornton Wilder (1938): Chosen by Committee SPECIAL LIVE EDITION (episode 20)

Oh no! John Rosenberg is moving back to Los Angeles! To see him off and celebrate the 20th episode (!!!) of Chosen by Committee, the podders got together and recorded an episode LIVE in John’s backyard! It was a lot of fun, but the sound quality is not perfect. Let’s say it adds to the charm.

This week’s play is the best-known of any play to win a Pulitzer so far: 1938 winner Our Town by Thornton Wilder.

Josh, John and Chris also recorded a couple scenes of the play. Here, Mr. Webb (Munden) gives his future son-in-law George (Rosenberg) some advice on his wedding day before they/re interrupted by Mrs. Webb (Herren).

Then the Stage Manager (Munden) introduces the conversation that saw George (Rosenberg) and Emily (Herren) discover their mutual affection and get a soda.
