Artistic director Lori Allen combines momentous energy and languid movement to guide and invite the audience through the progression, questions and repetition that is consciousness. Circular thoughts remain contained in this space, alongside sound designer Adam Vidiksis contagious and hypnotic score of Alan Watts Time, allowing a space for both deep appreciation and wonder.
Utilizing the architecture of the space the dancers began outside the windows of the third story, rendering our view distal, separate from where we the audience sat. Becoming more enthralled in the score, the dancers dictated the energy of these monumental questions, paralleling the force of the language into a conversation of cause and effect within bodies, of negotiation and understanding time. Embracing both singularity and unity, THEN THE TAIL explores what happens first and last, and that these points are in fact always intersected, at the point of instability and probability.
