This week’s excerpt is read by Matteo Scammell and Lee Minora. Matteo plays JOE (“dark, sloppy, beautiful, and young”), an itinerant Italian-American farmhand, ladies man, and organizer for the International Workers of the World (Wobblies). He’s working for Italian immigrant Tony on a vineyard in the Napa Valley during prohibition. Tony saw a waitress, AMY (Lee Minora), in San Francisco and had Joe write to her to ask her to marry him. She asked for a photo and Tony sent a photo of the much younger, more attractive Joe. Now Amy has arrived at the vineyard while Tony is en route to pick her up from the train station. She thinks Joe is the one she’s supposed to marry.
After reading this evaluation, I was finally able to comprehend what exactly is going on. The movie is very deserving of our attention, and I would be delighted to view it with you.
