Nominate This! 2015 Barrymore Awards nominees

barrymore_awards_0Theatre Philadelphia announced the nominations for 2015 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theater, the premiere awards for the region’s professional theater (think Tony or Olivier, wiz wit). Thirty-four companies entered 105 shows to be judged, and about a dozen companies received a nod in the major theatrical categories. A quick count shows the leading company to be Norristown’s Theatre Horizon, with 19 nominations (including 12 for the musical Into the Woods); the top Philly company is Theatre Exile with 14 (including two in best overall production).

The awards ceremony will be held Monday, November 2, 2015, at 7 p.m. at the Merriam Theater. Tickets are available starting tomorrow at theatrephiladelphia.org. And if you’re interested in less scientific lists of the best in Philadelphia theater, check out the Phindie Critics’ Awards for 2014/15, announced last week.
