Aryn Bohannon can be called onto stage at any moment during the performance of SIX. The actress and recent college graduate is an alternate for the national touring production. She took a few minutes to talk with Phindie about the show- and her touring companion!

Debra Danese: SIX is your first national tour. What has the experience been like so far?
Aryn Bohannon: The experience has been more educational than I could have imagined. I’ve learned things about myself in a professional and personal sense that I didn’t even know was waiting to be discovered. I think a large part of that is being surrounded my so many inspiring women and non-binary individuals. I have never met a group of people that are so different, yet make such an incredible unit together. Learning from them what kind of performer and person I am-and aspire to be-is as invaluable as you can imagine as a young woman.
DD: What does being an alternate entail?
Aryn Bohannon: Being an alternate entails learning 3 of the 6 tracks of the show, and being ready at any given moment to go on. That includes in the middle of the show which, thankfully, hasn’t happened yet. I personally cover Boleyn, Seymour, and Howard.
DD: With so many great songs in the musical, which is your favorite?
Aryn Bohannon: Oh, this is a great question. Personally, my favorite song is I Don’t Need Your Love. I’m a sucker for a tragic romance. I will admit that I listen to the SIX soundtrack on road-trips and walking days. I truthfully cannot get enough of any of the songs in this show. You’ll understand my obsession when you see it!
DD: Which of the six wives do you most relate to
Aryn Bohannon: I think I can see bits of myself within each queen. Pegging one above others is difficult given they are all such intricate people, but if I had to pick, I would say that I relate to Boleyn the most. I find myself being the gremlin jokester in most groups I’m in, so we share that chaotic bond.
DD: What’s the one thing you always have with you while touring?
Aryn Bohannon: My tour cat! Her name is Boo. The cast and crew understandably thought it was crazy for me to adopt a cat on the road- and I am- but I love her to death. She has grown to love traveling and keeps me company. I find it essential to have a constant when your life and surroundings are so frequently changing. As an avid cat lady, I needed the furry road buddy.
