Philadelphia’s most inventive and audacious dance troupe, Brian Sanders’ JUNK, brings the sixth annual installment of its winter fundraiser to the Union Transfer this year, with the promise that SNOWBALL 2016 will be “THE BIGGEST BALL YET!” Guests will see the popular Spring Garden concert venue transformed into a winter wonderland for the January 30th extravaganza, with white installations, sparkling decorations, and a soft and fuzzy artificial snowball fight.
Along with daring one-night-only performances by JUNK’s Teddy Fatscher, Julia Higdon, Regan Jackson, William Robinson, and Kelly Trevlyn—decorated in body paint by make-up artists from sponsor MAC Cosmetics–supporters will get a sneak peek or two at the boundary-breaking breath-taking choreography Sanders has in store for audiences of the upcoming Philadelphia Fringe Festival in September. Special guest hosts, DJs, and live music by You Do You will keep the ball rolling, with dancing till 1 am and raffles throughout the evening–including tickets and memberships to Philly’s favorite performing arts companies, and the selection of one lucky 50/50 winner. In addition, cash prizes up to $250 will be awarded for Best Creative White Attire and Best Creative Jewelry.
Doors open at 8 pm for general admission, with tickets ranging from $25 (students and ages 12-21) to $35 (adults, with cash bar) to $75 (with open bar from 8-10 pm). VIP tickets, at $150 per person or $250 per couple, include pre-show admission at 7, to enjoy light-fare comfort food, open bar till 10, and up-close-and-personal mingling with the dancers. All proceeds benefit JUNK, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization, so get your white on and enjoy the most spectacular benefit dance party of this and every winter!
