Video Preview: Hitchcock’s THE 39 STEPS at Theatre Horizon

Dunk the master of mystery in a vat of absurdity and you have Alfred Hitchcock’s THE 39 STEPS, a zany adaptation of the 1935 movie. Norristown’s Theatre Horizon is staging this mystery/comedy epic, with a enticing cast of four local stars (Genevieve Perrier, Damon Bonetti, Adam Altman, and Steve Pacek) taking on 150 roles, and Matt Pfeiffer (called on this site “the best director in Philadelphia) bringing them together with an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers, and some old-fashioned romance.

Mary Tuomanen led last season’s Spring Awakening at Theatre Horizon. Sadly, she’s not a part of this production, but she gives a great preview of the show in this video, acting out some of the stock characters and providing a summary of the plot.

[401 DeKalb St; Norristown, PA] May 15-June 8, 2014, theatrehorizon.org.
