DARLINGS: KILL US (Good Good Comedy): 2018 Fringe review

Darlings-Kill-Us-Please-webGood Good Comedy Theatre in Chinatown fills its regular monthly programming with a bunch of weirdly funny shows: Ur Mom Is Funny sees comedians bring their mothers onstage; Schooled recounts stories of high school; Weeding Out the Stoned has the audience pick out the sober person in a lineup of high comics. For the 2018 Fringe Festival, the theater put together a greatest hits collection from its monthly sketch show, Darlings.

DARLINGS: KILL US PLEASE showcases the talents of over a dozen comedians (a who’s who of Philly comedy), so the comedytraverses many types of humor. In its finest sketches—a blind date between two gay people… of opposite genders, a demented gynecologist—the show’s as good as any of the old-school sketch masters—the State, SCTV. Like the best sketch shows, it keeps a quick pace through short bits (Aaron Nevins directs). In a word: funny.
