Rita Mahtoubian is not a Terrorist, and other film school shorts

The fourth season of Film School Shorts, a 0-episode, 30-minute public television show that airs across the country, premieres in Philadelphia on WHYY 12 on Sunday night, October 2, 2016, at 12:30 a.m. and will air on Sunday nights through December.

Film School Shorts curates the best short drama, comedy, animation, and more from young, diverse filmmakers. Produced at schools like AFI, NYU, USC, and Columbia, these films have screened at major film festivals like Cannes, Tribeca, and SXSW and have won Student Academy Awards and other accolades. Past filmmakers include Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12), Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), and Sarah-Violet Bliss (TBS’ upcoming Search Party).

This season features Rita Mahtoubian is not a Terrorist, which was co-produced by Philly-raised director Julia Lerman. It stars Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous) and will air on October 9, 2016.
